- The Greater Northern Skills Development Group Inc is an independent not for profit association established to encourage and assist skills development within the New England and Northwest Its key objective is to promote skills development and training support industry and community and develop communication strategies.

LAUNCH OF THE 2010 NEW ENGLAND TRAINING AWARDS
Members and guests of GNSDG attended the official launch of the 2010 New England & North West Regional Training awards on Tuesday, 2 March, at 10.30am at the Country Energy premises in Electra Street, Tamworth. The awards include the following categories:
- Apprentice of the Year
- School Based Apprentice of the Year
- Trainee of the Year
- Vocational Student of the Year
- Vocational School Student of the Year
- VET Achievement Award for a student with a Disability
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
- VET Trainer/Assessor of the Year
- VET Large Employer of the Year
- VET Small Employer of the Year
- VET in Schools Excellence Award
